AI Policy

Aafaq-e-Tahqeeq (AT) recognizes the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic research and scholarly publishing. The journal supports the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies while maintaining the principles of originality, transparency, research integrity, and accountability.

Use of AI Tools by Authors

Authors may use AI-assisted tools for limited purposes such as:

  • Language improvement and grammar correction
  • Formatting assistance
  • Improving readability and clarity of written content
  • Supporting non-substantive editorial tasks

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, validity, and ethical integrity of their manuscripts.

Disclosure of AI Use

Authors must disclose any significant use of AI tools during manuscript preparation. The disclosure should include:

  • Name of the AI tool used
  • Purpose of AI assistance
  • Sections of the manuscript where AI tools were used

AI-generated content must be carefully reviewed and verified by authors before submission.

AI as an Author

Artificial Intelligence tools, software, or systems cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts submitted to Aafaq-e-Tahqeeq (AT). Authorship requires human responsibility, accountability, and intellectual contribution.

Responsibility for AI-Generated Content

Authors are responsible for ensuring that AI-assisted content:

  • Does not contain plagiarism or copyright violations.
  • Does not include fabricated information, incorrect references, or misleading data.
  • Meets ethical standards of academic publishing.
  • Properly acknowledges sources and contributions.

Use of AI in Peer Review and Editorial Process

Reviewers and editors must maintain confidentiality and should not upload submitted manuscripts or unpublished research content into publicly available AI tools. Any use of AI-assisted technologies during peer review or editorial activities must comply with confidentiality and ethical publishing standards.

Editorial Monitoring

Aafaq-e-Tahqeeq (AT) reserves the right to investigate inappropriate, undisclosed, or unethical use of AI-generated content. Manuscripts that violate research integrity standards may be rejected, corrected, or retracted according to the journal’s publication ethics and retraction policies.

The journal follows international publication ethics principles, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), regarding responsible AI use in scholarly publishing.
