Correction & Retraction Policy

Aafaq-e-Tahqeeq (AT) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal follows transparent procedures for handling corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions in accordance with international publishing ethics standards, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Corrections Policy

If errors are identified in a published article that do not affect the overall validity, findings, or conclusions of the research, the journal may publish a correction notice.

Corrections may include:

  • Errors in author names, affiliations, or contact information.
  • Minor errors in text, figures, tables, or references.
  • Publisher-related mistakes introduced during the publication process.

All corrections are published as separate notices and linked to the original article. The original article remains available, with clear information about the correction to maintain transparency.

Expression of Concern

In cases where serious concerns arise regarding the reliability, integrity, or ethical aspects of a published article, but a final decision cannot yet be reached, Aafaq-e-Tahqeeq (AT) may issue an Expression of Concern.

An Expression of Concern remains linked to the article until the investigation is completed and appropriate action is taken.

Retraction Policy

A published article may be retracted when serious issues are identified, including:

  • Plagiarism or significant duplication of published work.
  • Fabrication or falsification of data.
  • Serious research misconduct.
  • Unethical research practices.
  • Major errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions.
  • Authorship disputes or other ethical violations.

Retraction decisions are made carefully by the editorial team after investigation and evaluation of available evidence.

Retraction Process

When an article is retracted:

  • A clear retraction notice is published.
  • The retraction notice explains the reason for retraction.
  • The original article remains accessible for transparency and is clearly marked as retracted.
  • The article metadata and indexing records are updated where applicable.

Author and Reader Responsibilities

Authors are required to promptly inform the editorial office if they discover significant errors in their published work. Readers, reviewers, and researchers may report suspected ethical issues or inaccuracies to the editorial team for investigation.

Editorial Responsibility

The editorial board of Aafaq-e-Tahqeeq (AT) ensures that all correction and retraction decisions are handled fairly, transparently, and independently. The journal follows COPE recommendations to protect the integrity of the academic record.
